One of the best defensemen in the NHL at making life miserable for opposing forwards and getting the puck moving the other way, he can kill penalties effectively and handle a top-pairing workload of 20-plus minutes on a nightly basis. Is not a significant point contributor, but his team will usually outscore the opponents when he is on the ice.
Long Range Potential: Top-level shutdown defenseman.
