Holmstrom logged an assist, two shots on goal and two blocked shots in Tuesday's 4-3 win over the Sharks.
Holmstrom signed a two-year, $7.25 million contract with the Islanders on Tuesday, Darren Dreger of TSN reports.
Is a natural with the puck on his stick, and he loves the playmaking role. Is a creative thinker with the puck on his blade. Is also a great skater (he uses his edges with aplomb) with a very high hockey IQ. Needs to become a better player when he does not have the puck, and also generally work on his defensive-zone coverage. Must also fill out his frame and get stronger in order to maximize output in the NHL.
Long Range Potential: Talented, playmaking winger with good upside.
