Beckman signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Islanders on Tuesday, per PuckPedia.
Has a great hockey IQ and an excellent sense of anticipation on the ice. Skilled and productive, he can play both wing and center. While a cerebral player, he also displays very good hands and a goal-scorer's touch. Will need to fill out and get physically stronger in order to maximize output at the highest level. Also, he may not have enough defensive chops to play down the middle in the NHL (and may be more prolific as a winger anyway).
Long Range Potential: Smart, versatile offensive forward with upside.
