Valimaki (knee), as expected, was placed on the injured, non-roster list Monday.
Valimaki will be out 8-9 months after undergoing surgery to repair a torn ACL, Utah announced Monday.
Has very good size and a penchant for producing impressive offensive numbers at all levels. Passes the puck with aplomb, so he is a smooth puck mover. Is comfortable quarterbacking a power play, too. Does not always use his imposing size to his advantage, so he could stand to become a little more aggressive in the physicality department. Also, he still needs more work in his defensive-zone coverage.
Long Range Potential: Big, talented offensive defenseman with good upside.
