Tanev signed a three-year, $7.5 million contract with Utah on Tuesday, according to Pierre LeBrun of TSN.
Scouting Report
A real worker bee up front, he makes life miserable for opposing defensemen by getting in on the forecheck. Is an effective penalty killer who is also a threat to score while his team is shorthanded. Has never been a high scorer, but his offensive numbers have risen from earlier in his career, and he makes good use of his speed. A lack of optimum size is a problem, as are injuries.
Long Range Potential: Speedy, pesky two-way forward (when healthy).
