A barrage of injuries has taken the franchise 'tender down a peg or two, after he was arguably the best netminder in the world in the mid-2010s. Is still regarded among the NHL's elite goaltenders because he remains technically strong, plays under control and reads plays extremely well (as he showed during the 2021 Stanley Cup playoffs). Staying healthy has become increasingly difficult in his 30s.
