Allen completed all three of his pass attempts for 22 yards in his lone appearance of the 2022 season, which came Week 9 in a 42-21 win over the Panthers.
The Bengals re-signed Allen on Friday.
Impressive arm strength, footwork and leadership skills keep him on the pro radar as a useful journeyman. Is highly coachable and a student of the game. Mechanically sound, he makes quick reads and sets his body to make strong, accurate throws both from the pocket and on the run. Excellent mobility allows for designed scrambles and bootlegs. He protects the football fairly well. Is considered small by NFL standards. A late bloomer in college, he was not very highly regarded as a pro prospect until his senior year. Lacks big-game experience at the highest level.
Long Range Potential: Decent backup quarterback.
