The Chargers acquired Penning from the Saints on Tuesday in exchange for a future draft pick, Matthew Paras of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
Scouting Report
A three-year starting left tackle at the FCS level, he owns the size, length, toughness, smarts and work ethic to succeed in the NFL. Has the potential and power to excel as a drive blocker and is a good enough athlete to block effectively in space. He will need to improve his positioning and do a better job of preventing defenders from getting their hands on him to avoid getting knocked down.
Long Range Potential: Talented offensive tackle with upside.
