The Bills signed Poyer off the practice squad Tuesday.
Poyer, who was elevated from the Bills' practice squad to the active roster Saturday, is expected to start at safety against the Panthers on Sunday, Lance Lysowski of The Buffalo News reports.
Exceptionally well-rounded, and a playmaker all over the field. He possesses solid size for a pro defensive back and just enough speed to stay with opponents downfield. And while not a true burner speed-wise he is exceptionally quick and explosive in short spaces, helping him get a step on his cover. He took awhile finding his game in the NFL, in part due to injury issues and because he would play out of control and garner unnecessary penalties. Additionally, he can be a more consistent tackler.
Long Range Potential: Late-blooming, playmaking starter at safety.
