Jackson is expected to be released or traded by the Panthers before March 16, when he is due a $4 million roster bonus, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
Jackson finished the regular season with 59 tackles (49 solo), zero interceptions on five passes defended and one fumble forced in 16 games.
Boasts elite foot speed and can stay with most any receiver. He's additionally shown he can pile up tackles and bust up passes in bunches when he's focused and on his game. He isn't yet much of a factor in the pickoff game. He isn't the type of big, strapping d-back who can take on jumbo receivers. Is at a significant disadvantage physically because of his lack of weight. Struggles to make some plays due to short arms. His small-ish hands are a limitation in the secondary. Really lacks functional strength for a pro d-back.
Long Range Potential: Depth defensive back.
