Lauer cleared waivers Friday and was sent outright to Triple-A Nashville, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Lauer was optioned to the Arizona Complez League on Sunday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
A very cerebral pitcher with a knowledge of how to get hitters out, he mixes his pitches and changes speeds with aplomb. His changeup is his best out-pitch. Displays excellent control most of the time. Does not have a dominant fastball. Can get burned by the long ball when his pitches elevate a bit too much. His slider needs some work in order to become a quality third offering at the big-league level.
Long Range Potential: Solid left-hander with upside.
