The Mets and Taylor avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $3.8 million contract Friday, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports.

Scouting Report

Owns legitimate home-run power and blazing wheels, making him a constant power/speed threat on the field. Also uses his legs in the outfield, where he can track down balls and cover the ground in center. Can go into prolonged hitting funks, with seemingly no end in sight. Does not walk enough to take better advantage of the stolen-base threat. Perhaps he tinkers with his swing a little bit too much.

Long Range Potential: Toolsy outfielder with some upside.
