CAPITALS GET CENTER DAVID KAMPF
The Washington Capitals acquired center David Kampf from the Vancouver Canucks for a sixth-round draft pick in 2026.
What does it give the Washington Capitals
The Capitals shipped out veteran Nic Dowd in a separate deal, so Kampf comes in to replace him as the fourth-line center down the stretch. A good checking center, Kampf should help out Washington's defensive game–but he is no Dowd.
What does it give the Vancouver Canucks
Kampf is one of many veterans dealt by the last-place overall Canucks at this year's trade deadline. The Czech veteran was a mid-season signing, after he terminated his contract with Toronto, so Vancouver did well to get a late draft pick here.
