Brunicke will be loaned to Team Canada for the 2026 World Junior Championship, Penguins play-by-play announcer Josh Getzoff reports.
Brunicke was recalled from his conditioning loan with AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Sunday.
Has terrific mobility and agility for a big defenseman. Can be used in all game situations due to his supreme athleticism and overall talent. Gets into trouble when he tries to do too much on the ice; for him, less is more quite often. Shoots the puck with aplomb and provides offense. Needs to become more assertive when using his body to defend his position. Must also limit his mistakes in order to maximize output.
Long Range Potential: Talented all-around defenseman.
