Steeves was placed on waivers Sunday, Belle Fraser of the Bruins' official site reports.
Steeves penned a one-year, $850,000 deal with Boston on Tuesday, Kevin McGran of The Toronto Star reports.
The undrafted forward got plenty of attention from NHL teams after three solid seasons at the University of Notre Dame. He is excellent at creating space for himself and looking off defenders to create plays for his teammates. He is agile rather than fast, and needs a quicker first step to maximize his offensive abilities. Occasionally loses his man in the defensive zone but has a quick stick for breaking up plays.
Long Range Potential: Depth forward with a little upside.
