Veleno inked a one-year contract with Montreal on Wednesday.
Scouting Report
The No. 30 overall draft pick in 2018 is still filling out, and the added strength figures to make him more of a force in all three zones. A big scorer in junior hockey, he is still working to make himself more of a 200-foot player, but his good hockey sense should speed up the process. Has to shoot more to balance his abilities as a playmaker and keep opponents from ganging up on him.
Long Range Potential: Inconsistent forward.
