Maltsev had two shots on net and won all three faceoffs over 6:43 of ice time in Tuesday's 3-2 shootout win over the Rangers.
Scouting Report
The Russian forward stayed in the KHL for three seasons before coming to North America. He uses his big frame and good speed to help his team control possession, and he is not shy about shooting. He lacks top-level skill but could find a role as a complementary player, since he can do some of the dirty work for offensive-minded linemates.
Long Range Potential: Big, versatile two-way forward.
