Mahura posted an assist, two hits and two PIM in Tuesday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Canadiens.
Mahura signed a two-year, $1.815 million contract extension with the Kraken on Friday.
The puck-moving defenseman is learning that he has to take care of his own zone first in order to succeed in the NHL, after putting up good offensive numbers in junior hockey and the AHL. Must do a better job of picking his spots when joining the rush. He showed in the minors that he can play in all situations, so there is hope that his game will eventually translate to the highest level. Is working to add strength to cope with the rigors of dealing with big forwards as he moves toward his prime.
