Barbashev netted a goal and put two shots on target in Tuesday's 5-4 shootout loss to the Islanders.
Barbashev scored a power-play goal in Friday's 3-0 win over the Devils.
As he moves through the prime of his career, the Russian forward is finally showing the kind of offensive chops that made him a big scorer in junior hockey. His 200-foot game has always been very good, and he is also a useful penalty killer. Is showing more willingness to shoot rather than merely feeding teammates, and it is helping his overall game. He can play effectively in all situations (and all three forward positions), and move up and down the lineup.
Long Range Potential: Solid, extremely versatile two-way forward.
