Nosek (knee) was moved to non-roster, injured reserve Tuesday.
General manager Bill Zito said Wednesday that Nosek sustained a significant knee injury during the offseason and will miss several months to begin the regular season, David Dwork of The Hockey News reports.
The native of the Czech Republic brings decent offense for a player who spends most of his time as a bottom-six forward. Usually plays down the middle but is also capable of being effective on the wing. Continues to put up good face-off numbers. While he is tremendously useful, he is not as good when given a bigger role at the NHL level.
Long Range Potential: Versatile forward and role player.
