Rust managed to set a new personal best with 28 goals this season, despite playing in just 62 games.
Rust scored a goal and added two assists in Thursday's 6-5 overtime win over the Red Wings.
Is a smallish but tenacious winger who plays a sound two-way game. His speed helps make him a consistent offensive threat as well as someone who can be trusted when his team is trying to hang onto a lead. He is a tenacious forechecker who can also kill penalties. Though he will never be an elite scorer, he can put the puck in the net on a regular basis. Injuries are a factor here.
