Foligno tallied a goal, put two shots on net and dished out two hits in Wednesday's 4-3 shootout loss to the Sharks.
Foligno (lower body) is expected to be activated off injured reserve and make his return to the lineup for Tuesday's home game versus the Capitals, Michael Russo of The Athletic reports.
The younger of former NHL winger Mike Foligno's two hockey-playing sons is bigger than his dad, but not as skilled offensively. He plays a north-south game and will get in on the forecheck to make life miserable for opposing defensemen. He can kill penalties and play a shutdown game, and even his offensive game has matured with experience. Is valuable in any game situation.
