A first-round draft pick (No. 21) in 2009, he is trying to reinvigorate an NHL career plagued by injuries and inconsistency, which is not easy for a defenseman on the wrong side of 30. At his best, he is a good skater and puck mover whose ceiling is probably on the third pairing (or as the No. 7 D-man).
