Scouting Report
The No. 1 overall pick in the 2006 draft thrived as a big defenseman who skated very well. He had a big shot, possessed excellent hockey sense and was effective in a shutdown role. Staying healthy was always an issue throughout his career but he was capable of averaging 20 effective minutes per game when available. He never lived up to his draft pedigree but he did provide solid play and excellent team-first leadership throughout his lengthy NHL career.
Long Range Potential: Solid all-around defenseman and leader (when healthy).
