Head coach Glen Gulutzan said Wednesday that Bichsel (lower body) is "very, very close" to returning but will be held out until after the Olympic break, Brien Rea of Victory+ reports.

Bichsel is targeting a return date just before or after the Olympic break, Sam Nestler of DLLS Stars reports Sunday.

Scouting Report

The towering defenseman from Switzerland skates well for his size, is physical and has some offensive skill. He can carry the puck and create a little bit of offense, but puck play is not his strongest point. He can make opponents pay when they cross over the blueline and closes gaps pretty well. Also displays very good reach and physicality.

Long Range Potential: Big, mobile and tough defenseman.
