The Patriots signed Jones to a three-year contract extension Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Jones recorded seven tackles (five solo) and two pass breakups, including one interception, in the Patriots' win over the Bills on Sunday night.
He is a bit undersized as a slot corner but compensates with playmaking talents--and he can be a game-changing return man. As a defensive back he has to play with more discipline and anticipation on pass routes, rather than rely solely on his athleticism. As a returner, he is a threat to go all the way when he gets the ball in his hands. Could earn snaps as a wideout due to his playmaking chops.
Long Range Potential: Undersized cornerback and dynamic return man.
