The Jaguars elected to decline Chaisson's fifth-year option on his rookie contract Monday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Chaisson sustained a meniscus injury during Sunday's 13-6 loss versus Houston and will be placed on Jacksonville's injured reserve list, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
An edge rush specialist, he owns a well-rounded skill set that should allow him to stay on the field in all situations. Fast, explosive and disruptive as a pass rusher, he is accustomed to playing the strong outside linebacker position in either 3-4 or 4-3 schemes. Can beat blockers around the corner to create pressure and sacks. Also possesses the agility to drop into coverage. Sufficient as a run defender, he is strong in pursuit and can manhandle tight ends. His college career was sharply curtailed due to injuries, so he must prove more durable at the pro level and expand his repertoire of rush moves.
Long Range Potential: Talented outside linebacker and sack specialist.
