JAREN JACKSON Jr. JETTISONED TO UTAH!
The Utah Jazz acquired forward/center Jaren Jackson Jr., forward/guard Vince Williams Jr., forward/guard John Konchar and center Jock Landale from the Memphis Grizzlies for guard Walter Clayton Jr., forwards Kyle Anderson, Taylor Hendricks and Georges Niang, a first-round draft pick in 2027, a conditional first-round draft pick in 2027 and a first-round draft pick in 2031.
What does it give the Utah Jazz
The Jazz are a young team that could be growing up quickly after this trade. Jackson Jr. could form a potent frontcourt alongside Lauri Markkanen and center Walker Kessler (currently injured), eventually. Williams Jr., Konchar and Landale should also contribute in Utah, who should be a much better team down the stretch.
What does it give the Memphis Grizzlies
For Memphis, this deal clearly displays a willingness to wave the white towel and start over. The key player acquired is Clayton Jr., a young guard who might be the eventual replacement for Ja Morant–if the Grizzlies decide to trade him as well. Anderson, Hendricks and Niang are all backup forwards who may or may not stick around.
Fantasy impact
Jackson Jr. and Clayton Jr. are the two fantasy winners after this trade. The key for the former will be to form good chemistry with Markkanen. Clayton Jr. probably needs a Morant trade before he is able to become an impact player. Williams Jr., Hendricks, Anderson, Konchar, Landale and Niang do not have much fantasy value at this time.
