A take-charge scorer and playmaker, he also had the skills of a point guard. Smooth, he was a good penetrator who drew a lot of fouls and hit his free throws. Did a great job of breaking down his man, and boasted a superb shooting stroke with great range. He was clutch and mature, with some leadership ability. Lacked bulk and did not have a great wingspan, which limited him defensively (especially in one-on-one situations against explosive opponents). His light frame also limited him as a rebounder, and also caused issues in terms of his durability.
