The Pistons are not expected to guarantee Brown's $4 million salary by Sunday for the 2024-25 season, and the team is expected to waive him, James L. Edwards III of The Athletic reports.
Brown is in the starting five for Friday's game versus the Wizards, Omari Sankofa II of the Detroit Free Press reports.
He's a physically-gifted team-first wing who plays tough defense and makes the extra pass. He rebounds well too, and is a constant threat for steals. A strong slasher with superb fluid athleticism. He brings good height for the NBA wing, with good standing reach. Large hands give him an edge as well. His offensive game is still pretty raw, especially his perimeter shooting. He too often forces shots or leans too heavily on his athleticism to make tough attempts. His game needs more consistency overall.
Long Range Potential: Team-first, strong-defending swingman with starter ability.
