RANGERS ADD GONZALEZ

The Texas Rangers acquired pitcher Michael Gonzalez from the Baltimore Orioles for a player to be named later.

What does it give the Texas Rangers
Gonzalez should help the Rangers, who recently let veteran lefty Arthur Rhodes go and boast only vet Darren Oliver as a lefty reliever. Gonzalez is wild, but quite capable when he's pitching well.

What does it give the Baltimore Orioles
The Orioles will go with a younger lefty arm out of the bullpen in Zach Phillips now that they've shipped the underachieving Gonzalez out. They'll also land a marginal prospect out of the deal.
