The Rangers get a veteran starting pitcher who could help replenish the team's starting rotation in 2023. Texas needs a lot more than just Odorizzi in order to vastly improve, but his arrival is a decent start.
What does it give the Atlanta Braves
The Braves dealt from a position of surplus here, since Odorizzi was not really in their long-term plans. Allard is a former Brave who needs to resurrect his MLB career. Atlanta also sent cash to Texas.
Fantasy impact
Neither Odorizzi nor Allard is a recommendable draft option for 2023 in many league formats. However, keep an eye on both hurlers in spring training.
