Allard re-signed with the Guardians on a minor-league contract Wednesday, Paul Hoynes of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Displays exceptional command of his arsenal, plus he knows how to pitch. Complements a slightly below-average fastball with a tremendous changeup and quality curve. Is really good at frustrating opposing bats because he never gives in to them. His fastball lacks velocity, so he can ill-afford to pitch up in the strike zone very often. Also, he lacks optimum size for a starting pitcher in Major League Baseball. Therefore, he needs to add more bulk for greater stamina. Is not a big strikeout artist.
Long Range Potential: Talented, crafty left-hander with upside.
