What does it give the Seattle Mariners
The Mariners have struggled on offense this season, so it makes sense to bring in Bauers in an attempt to see if he can get things going with the bat. They did not give up much in this deal, so why not?
What does it give the Cleveland Guardians
The Indians recently designated the struggling Bauers for assignment, and replaced him on the roster with first base prospect Bobby Bradley. Therefore, he was rather expendable at this time.
Fantasy impact
Seattle's regular first baseman Evan White could return from the IL soon, but he was hitting just .144 this season. Therefore, look for Bauers and White to platoon at first base for the Mariners. Neither player should be picked up in fantasy leagues until they show improvement at the dish.
