Bauers will start at first base and bat seventh Wednesday in Game 3 of the NLDS versus the Cubs.
Is an extremely patient hitter with the ability to hit for power and draw a surplus of walks. Is also a great defender at first base. Versatile enough to play a corner outfield position, he displays good athleticism. However, he profiles as a classic, left-handed first baseman. His power lacks consistency for the time being, so it may behoove him to become a little more aggressive at the plate in Major League Baseball (where pitchers throw strikes with far more consistency). Must also prove himself against left-handed pitching in the big leagues.
