The Dodgers and Ferguson avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $2.4 million contract Thursday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
Ferguson will serve as the opening pitcher in the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader at Colorado, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.
Owns a solid frame (6-3) and pretty good stuff. He complements his quality fastball with a bending curve that can be a very effective weapon on the mound. Also throws a decent changeup. He gets good movement. Has trouble with both control and command, which he needs to curb in order to maximize his outings in MLB. In fact, his lack of consistency (and trouble repeating his delivery) may force him to become a specialist.
Long Range Potential: Inconsistent left-hander with upside.
