Kuhnel was optioned to Triple-A Louisville on Saturday.
Scouting Report
A mammoth physical specimen, he can intimidate batters with both his presence on the bump and his huge fastball (that can at times hover close to triple digits on the radar gun). He commands his heater well, too. Also throws a hard slider, but he lacks a top-drawer second offering in his arsenal. His demeanor and physique are built for late-inning relief but he will need to find a second quality pitch in order to maximize his high-leverage innings in MLB.
Long Range Potential: Hulking reliever with upside.
