Dowdy has struck out a batter while allowing an unearned run on one hit and two walks in 1.2 innings across two appearances for Triple-A Louisville since the Reds returned him to the minors on Sept. 18.
Dowdy was recalled from Triple-A Louisville to serve as the 29th man during Saturday's doubleheader against the Cardinals.
Has a big arm, quality fastball and good overall stuff. When used as a starter, he displays a quality, four-pitch arsenal. Lacks ideal size for a big-league pitcher. Struggles with consistency and can get lit up when he is even slightly off his game.
Long Range Potential: Inconsistent but talented and versatility right-hander with a little upside.
