Tigers manager A.J. Hinch said Wednesday that Rogers recently sustained a mild concussion but is expected to be ready to go for Opening Day, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.

The Tigers and Rogers avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $3.05 million contract Friday, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.

Scouting Report

An excellent defensive catcher, he owns a great throwing arm, a quick release, nimble feet and quickness behind the dish, solid fundamentals and quality receiving skills. Handles pitching staffs with aplomb, too. Has good home-run power at the plate but needs to become a more consistent hitter for average in order to maximize offensive output in MLB.
