The Reds signed Weigel to a minor-league contract on July 13.
Scouting Report
A towering mound presence at 6-6, 240 pounds, he boasts a very good fastball and two solid breaking pitches (curve and slider). His aggressive approach serves him well, as he can be intimidating to hit against. Injuries have already been an issue for him, so he needs to become a more reliable pitcher in order to maximize output in MLB. Has trouble repeating his delivery, so he might have to move to a bullpen role in time.
Long Range Potential: Huge, talented right-hander with upside, when healthy.
