Work ethic and effort are not in short supply for this tenacious infielder. A stalwart on defense, he uses his quick reads and lateral speed to make difficult plays in the infield. A strong arm that delivers the ball with a high velocity allows him to make accurate throws across the diamond with ease. An aggressive approach at the batter’s box is paired with an above-average awareness of the strike zone. This allows him to get on base consistently even though he has a tendency to lunge after off-speed pitches. Pitch recognition will need to improve if he wants to capitalize on home runs instead of singles. His speed however does allow him to stretch a single into a double consistently.
