The Yankees placed Cordero (suspension) on outright waivers Thursday, Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports.
Cordero has been suspended for the remainder of the season for violating Major League Baseball's Joint Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Policy, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.
Has an ideal (6-4) frame, plus the ability to strike a fair amount of batters out in the minor leagues. Is successful when he keeps the ball down in the strike zone. Needs to curb his number of walks and also limit the home runs he surrenders in order to maximize output in the big leagues. His repertoire is somewhat limited.
Long Range Potential: Decent reliever.
