Boyd took the loss in Saturday's game against the Brewers, giving up six runs (two earned) on four hits and a walk while striking out one batter over two-thirds of an inning.
Has a good pitchers' frame (6-3,215 pounds), plus great control in the minor leagues. His delivery is funky enough to deceive batters (even at the highest level). Pitches with great poise. A flyball pitcher, he can get burned by the long ball if his command isn't pinpoint (and doesn't have a dominant pitching arsenal). Will his delivery lead to injuries down the road?
Long Range Potential: Solid left-hander.
