Brault cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Iowa on Thursday, Andy Martinez of Marquee Sports Network reports.
Brault recently aggravated his left lat strain and has returned to Arizona to start a rehab process, Tony Andracki of Marquee Sports Network reports.
An excellent athlete, he owns a solid three-pitch arsenal (fastball, curve and changeup) that he commands exceptionally well. Generally keeps the ball down in the zone and induces plenty of groundball outs. Lacks optimum fastball velocity, and he also lacks a true strikeout pitch for Major League Baseball. Therefore, he will always need pinpoint accuracy and control of his pitches in order to succeed at the highest level.
Long Range Potential: Solid left-hander with some upside.
