Atlanta manager Brian Snitker said Aug. 14 that Jimenez (knee) won't return from the 60-day injured list this season, MLB.com reports.
Jimenez has been shut down from throwing after feeling soreness in his surgically repaired left knee, Grant McAuley of the Marietta Daily Journal reports.
Has outstanding strikeout ability coming out of the bullpen, plus the ideal demeanor for a late-inning reliever. Has good size and plenty of experience pitching in the ninth inning at the minor-league level. Can be wild at times, which can still be effective because his stuff is so good. However, he will need to curb his penchant for missing his spots in Major League Baseball to maximize output as a closer.
Long Range Potential: Talented, hard-throwing late-inning reliever with upside.
