Alcantara (9-12) came away with the win in Friday's 8-2 victory over Detroit, surrendering two runs on four hits and zero walks and striking out eight batters over seven innings.
Alcantara didn't factor into the decision in Tuesday's 11-2 loss to Atlanta, allowing two runs on three hits and two walks over seven innings. He struck out seven.
Can be an asset either as a starter or reliever (at all levels). His stuff can be positively filthy at times, and he can also be quite deceptive due to his lanky frame. Must become a more consistent strike-thrower in order to maximize his vast talent at the highest level. Also needs to find his big-league niche and add bulk.
Long Range Potential: Talented, versatile right-hander with upside.
