Rodon underwent surgery Wednesday to remove loose bodies and shave down a bone spur in his left elbow, Jorge Castillo of ESPN.com reports.
Rodon (16-8) took the loss against Detroit on Wednesday, allowing two runs on five hits and one walk while striking out six batters over six innings.
Exudes a lot of confidence when he's on the bump, partly due to his exceptional slider--a true out-pitch. A power pitcher, his fastball is also a weapon when he throws it for strikes. Lacks a bit of command of all his pitches, but especially his heater, which he needs to correct in order to maximize production at the highest level. Also needs more work on his defense.
Long Range Potential: Quality left-hander with some upside.
