The Royals designated Garrett for assignment Sunday.
Garrett (0-1) took the loss Thursday versus the Guardians, allowing four runs (two earned) on two hits and a walk while striking out one in one-third of an inning.
Displays an outstanding fastball when able to locate it, plus a great pitchers' frame and plenty of athleticism (he's also an accomplished basketball player). Can be dominant on the bump. Is extremely raw and lacks refinement in all his pitches (partly due to him being a two-sport athlete). Must learn to pitch with greater control in order to maximize his big-league output.
Long Range Potential: Talented, raw left-hander with some upside.
