Pagan has been diagnosed with a Grade 2 left hamstring strain and is expected to be sidelined 4-to-8 weeks, Gordon Wittenmyer of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

The Reds placed Pagan on the 15-day injured list Wednesday with a left hamstring strain.

Scouting Report

A hard-throwing right-hander, he has good size and a penchant for striking plenty of batters out in the minor leagues. Can be effective when used in the later innings at lower levels. In order to maximize output in Major League Baseball, he will need to better harness his control (since he has a tendency to walk a few too many batters, even at the minor-league level).

Long Range Potential: Decent reliever with a little upside.
