Stanek (personal), who was activated from the paternity list Saturday, made his first appearance of the postseason Sunday in the Astros' 6-2 loss to the Twins in Game 2 of the ALDS, giving up one earned run on two hits over 1.1 innings.
Houston placed Stanek on the paternity list Friday, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.
Can be used as either a starter or reliever in the minor leagues, but his three-quarters delivery and explosive fastball make him ideal for a bullpen role in MLB. Owns a very projectable frame. Lacks command of his arsenal, so he needs to show great improvement in this area in order to become a starting pitcher in the big leagues. Also needs to add significant bulk and strength for MLB.
Long Range Potential: Versatile, hard-throwing right-hander with a little upside.
